What to Expect as an Experienced Operator?
An experienced operator means you have over 40 hours of practical operating experience with the machine type you would like certification for. We respect your time and previous knowledge by ensuring:

Focused Practical Time: You’ll receive 15 to 20 minutes of hands-on practical operating time showing you know the basics for your practical assessment.

Efficiency and Value: Our goal is for you to enhance your capabilities without spending more time than needed to show your proficiency using the equipment you’re operating.
What to Expect as a Novice Operator?
Learning to operate something new can be intimidating as there is a learning curve involved. It is natural to feel apprehensive or overwhelmed when facing something unfamiliar. This is why we created a beginner option as it can contribute to a more inclusive, engaging, and effective learning experience for all participants.
If you have less than 40 hours of practical operating experience with the machine type you would like certification for, you may register as a novice operator. Our novice operators are registered for 2 seats to ensure they receive ample operating time. As a novice you can expect:

Extended Operating Time: Novice operators get 30 to 45 minutes of hands-on training, ensuring you get the feel of the machinery under the watchful eye of our instructors.

Personal Attention: With one-on-one instructor guidance, you’ll learn the ropes safely and effectively.

A No Pressure Environment: Should you need more practice, a second attempt at your practical assessment comes without extra charge, scheduled at your convenience.
How Do We Run Our Classes With Different Experience Levels, You Ask?
We do things a little differently here at Leavitt Machinery’s Operator Training department.
We purposely keep our class sizes small. This is to ensure that each student receives sufficient time to operate the equipment so that they feel confident and comfortable.
Experienced or novice operators can be enrolled in the same course despite having different experience levels. Having both experienced and novice operators in the same class can create a dynamic learning environment that promotes knowledge sharing, collaboration, and skill development for all participants.
