The longest annual paved hill climb in North America, the Knox Mountain Hill Climb has been attracting top drivers looking for a high speed challenge. For over 50 years drivers have navigated the 2.2 miles/3.5 km long run on Knox Mountain Park Road in Kelowna, BC.

This paved, narrow road features off-camber corners, steep grades, and climbs approximately 245 meters/800 feet. Drivers and their cars compete in various classes from open wheeled formula cars to GT cars. Each car is run one at a time and tries to reach the top in the fastest time, hoping to be “King of the Hill”.

The current fastest record is held by John Haftner of Vancouver, British Columbia who reached the top in 1m:37.065s. Most times fall between 2m:00s and 2m:30s with speeds reaching in excess of 160kph on the short straights.
