Upon completion, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize the characteristics of a properly-established excavation site.
  • Understand cave-in protection requirements and properly identify procedures to keep employees safe in an excavation.
  • Recognize hazards in and around an excavation or trenching site.
  • Take the necessary precautions to keep employees safe from hazards.

Excavation, Trenching, and Shoring Safety Course Duration

This excavation safety training requires approximately 20 minutes to complete.

Assessment and Completion

Testing is conducted throughout this excavation, shoring, and trenching safety course to reinforce the content presented. Participants are given up to 3 attempts to achieve a score of at least 80% on these questions. Upon passing the course, a certificate of completion is awarded that can be downloaded and printed.

Universally Compatible

This excavation safety course is designed to function on nearly all Apple, Android, and Windows devices. As a result, users can start the course on one device, pause it, and resume it on another. This allows for flexibility that fits any schedule.
